Ok guys, here are the minutes from tonights meeting: Music Parents Meeting Minutes December 4, 2013 Melissa(president), Melanie(treasurer), Sarah(director), and parents Laura, Tarah, and Rick Belpedio present. Meeting called to order by Melissa at 6:37. Introductions made and last months meeting minutes read. Melanie read financial report for the month. NOTE: There was an error on date for mattress sale on last months minutes. It should be January 11, NOT the 18th. The mattress fundraiser is a go for the 11th of January. It will be held in the high school cafeteria. The head of the company will be explaining the whole thing at the Christmas Extravaganza on the 15th of December. The kids should have brought the fliers home Monday night. Melanie found out some info on the Aunt Millie points fundraiser. She will be getting with Mr. Stauffer to discuss our options with him. Laura informed us that it looks like we will just break even with shipping & processing with the GL Scrips. Conversation pursued on how we might get more involvement in this. Flyers at the concert and an info table there too. Sending order forms with people that order regularly. It was too late when Mr. Stauffer got back with me to have nerf war in Nov. Dec. is busy month so looking into having it in Jan. Sarah is going to talk with Mr. Linn about using gym either Jan. 10 or 17. Music parents will provide pizza and drinks, kids bring chips and desserts. No Christmas party committee was formed, so no Christmas party. Christmas Extravaganza: asking parent volunteers for finger desserts such as cookies or brownies ; Music parents provide punch and coffee-Melissa see her pastor about warming carafe things. ; sell coffee and t shirts at concert ; tables set up with gl scrip and penny saved campaign info on it. Sarah asked for $163 to help cover costs for contest for kids that cant afford fees. Voted unanimously to pay. Decided instead of Valentines day dinner to do Date night dinner on Feb. 28. Sarah will clear date with Stauffer and get meal ideas/costs from Stephanie Owens. When meal ideas are in place, will discuss cost of tickets. Melanie suggested to contact Ashley Lowe to help advertise our events/fundraisers. Taken into consideration. Melissa is going to check costs to have 40 choir robes cleaned. Tarah suggested to look into Ladybug cleaners in Rochester. Melanie suggested that we start looking into prices for new instruments. Sarah is going start a list of what we need the most and the cost. We will look at what we can afford to replace. Melissa announced that she will be resigning as Music Parents President at the end of this school year. Meeting was adjourned at 8:05
