VINSON LONG The realm of the dead below is all astir to meet you at your coming; it rouses the spirits of the departed to greet you—all those who were leaders in the world; it makes them rise from their thrones—all those who were kings over the nations. They will all respond, they will say to you, “You also have become weak, as we are; you have become like us.” All your pomp has been brought down to the grave, along with the noise of your harps; maggots are spread out beneath you and worms cover you. Isaiah 14:9-11 (NIV) Hell is the realm below to receive the fallen king of Babylon. Not only is hell below excited to receive the king of Babylon it will also be excited to receive all the kings of the world and the citizens of the world. God desires that all mankind understand that Satan is destined for there. Satan wants to take along with him as many as he can. As men we need to acknowledge our weaknesses. But we should not let Satan convinces that do to our weakness we must go with him to hell. God has prepared for us a deliverance from hell and Satan’s grip on us. We should listen to the Holy Spirit as he reminds us that Christ has defeated Satan and broken his grip on us. Satan wants for us the opposite of what God wants for us. Satan desires we join him in hell while Christ desires we accept His plan of escape and live with Him for eternity. We often praise the Lord with our voices, hands, and instruments. We feel high on the Spirit of the Lord. It is at times like this that God will attack us, because we have put our guard down. Satan wants to drag us to the place which God has prepared for him. You do not have to join him in a place with maggots and worms. As believers we do not have to fear Satan bring us down to him. Allow the assurances of Christ that we are sealed from the enemies attack by the Spirit. Ephesians 1:13-14: “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory”
