I am blessed that I was born in the first generation that ever experienced that we could leave this earth. All the astronauts realised that the molecules in our bodies have been prototyped in ancient stars. We are made of stardust. Awe replaced their ancient fairy stories of religion. We have so much more to learn and understand. We still think the Earth is the centre of the universe. Religion holds us back from the the cognitive shift and realisation that we are just the crew on Spaceship Earth. We need a new story, a new realisation, we need a new common goal to preserve Earth. Part of the answer is humanism; not religion which has been, and still is, so destructive to a common goal and to our intellect. When will the new dawn come? If ever.
