I am bumping up against a problem that will only get worse and wondered if anyone had some ideas or information that might help. My husband has ALS and is in a power wheel chair. We usually transfer him from chair to commode etc. with a Hoyer lift which places him in a sling. The problem is his clothing. Shirts not so bad, but slacks/shorts must be lowered and that is a bear of a project even with his help. Ive heard of Velcro seams and am not sure how they work. He still works a couple days in a public office so he needs to be adequately covered. He cant do and undo Velcro alone -- hes also losing the use of his hands. I need a pair of slacks that I can rip off of him like a Chip n Dale stripper, but that I can also easily replace! Currently hes doing business naked as we call it, at home, which makes it impossible for him to go anywhere without getting dressed and that wears him out. Does any of that make sense?
