I am constantly invited to like, support or comment on pages supporting entrepreneuralism. The word entrepreneur is derived from the concepts private or free enterprise which are just misnomers for capitalism. The ill conceived policies of promoting entrepreneurism through small and medium enterprises represent just another attack on the working class and the degradation of work under 21st century capitalism. The system of capitalism thrives on high levels of unemployment. The unemployed represent a reserve army which is used to guarantee cheap labour and is used to ideologically justify foreign investment, i.e the control of a national economy by a global minority who own the planets multi-national corporations. Those who are unemployed are told that they are lazy and lack creativity and that this is the cause of their unemployment ( a bit like tell a rape victim that she was raped because she wore the wrong clothes or was in the wrong place at the wrong time). In South Africa 80% of SMEs fail in the first three years, because the economy is highly monopolised in all sectors, it is impossible for any SME to make inroads in this economy. SMEs like house pets dash around the dinner table of big capital and fight over the scraps and left overs that fall from the table. The economy in our society is privatised so as to prevent public control and ownership thereof. Only if we publicly and communally own the economy will we be able to create jobs collectively for all. Please stop inviting me to these useless and misleading pages.
