I am especially thankful this weekend. My sister Jill and I narrowly escaped a horrible accident at Orangeburg and McHenry. We were turning onto McHenry when the light turned red. After waiting in the intersection to be clear ( from green, to yellow and then red ) three cars ran the red light. The third car was at least 100 feet from the intersection when the light turned red. He had sped up and went through the light and was right at our front seat door. Well, in an instant, I swerved and floored it to get out of the way. One second later, I thanked God for His mercy. Jill and I have both had difficulty falling to sleep each night since. After an incident like this, one pauses to understand how fast life can be over. Travel carefully my friends , there seems to be a real disregard for traffic lights.
