I am extremely encouraged by all those who have come out in support of my candidature from all the constituencies in Homabay County. In the past few days, I have interacted with hundreds of young people, women and the elderly who have shared with me their hopes, ambitions and aspirations and I do believe that together we can make them a reality. There are thousands of people in Homabay who have all sorts of jobs and are working harder than ever, but still have nothing to show for it, nothing in their savings accounts. Economic growth is a myth if it is not reflected in the human and physical development of citizens. It ought to be reflected in more gainful employment, increased wages, job security, food security and better health and education for all. This is only possible through a stronger devolved system with adequate financial resources.
