I am feeling very sad today, as I think I will have to put our little dog down soon. He is around 16 years old, blind and deaf, and getting distressed when he cant find the door to get back inside. I let him outside for a few hours during the day and he always lays in the garden bed behind a hedge, I have noticed he likes to sleep up against things maybe helps him with his bearings. At times he stands and stares in one direction, he has started biting and licking his right paw and initially I thought he hurt it but now I think he is doing it because he is anxious, he is still eating well and still loves to be patted and he still wags his tail when you do it. Oh dear what to do have not slept the last couple of nights because he sleeps during the day and walks around aimlessly in the house bumping into everything during the night I am having to leave lights on but that doesnt make much difference to him., I am so upset about having to do this, I know its selfish to want to hang on to him but its like saying ok you die today who has the right to say or do that..
