I am fond of the expression there are no coincidences, and believe - TopicsExpress

I am fond of the expression there are no coincidences, and believe this is especially true in politics. Yet we have been asked over and over to believe explanations for scandals that are rooted in coincidence. When emails from the IRS commissioner are requested to aid an investigation, we are told her computer crashed. Coincidentally, no back up was found, the company that provided that back up lost the contract and six other high level associates emails suffered the same fate. Oh yeah, and we recycled her computer hard drive too. Wow, talk about long shot odds! Shift gears. You remember that whole Benghazi thing right? Coincidentally, a bunch of street thugs all watched the same video. They also happened to be near the consulate while talking about said video and, luckily for them, decided to drag their mortar tubes along on their evening stroll. Oh yeah, it coincidentally happened on September 11th also. Whod a thunk it ? Amazing how these things happen on poor President Obamas watch. Thank God he watches the news otherwise hed know nothing about any of this. Hey, I got another one. Did you hear that an FBI agent, probably through another example of coincidence, joined up with some Delta operators in Libya a couple weeks back to grab a guy wanted in the attack? Good thing, now this bad guy get his rights read to him and becomes the accused in a federal case instead of an enemy combatant checking into GITMO. All these things happening by pure chance, it takes your breath away. As you can see we are being fed lies on a wholesale level. We are being asked to throw common sense aside and swallow narratives that dont hold any water. These two scandals share the stage with others. These include: the VA debacle, NSA spying on American citizens, Fast & Furious gun-running, the Taliban Five prisoner exchange, the surprise collapse of Iraq and probably a couple more Ive even forgotten about. The thread that weaves throughout all these scandals is the preconceived notion that YOU are too stupid or disinterested to do anything but believe the lies. We deserve truth. However, we are only going to get it when we are engaged as a society. As long as we have our heads buried in our phones and know more about the Kardashians than what is happening in Washington nothing will change. The lies will get bolder and the scandals deeper and wider. They will eventually touch us personally. Wake up and pay attention. Call them out. Its not that hard to see through this stuff. In fact, if we do not demand better, Mrs. Clintons words will finally ring true...what difference does it make?
