I am fuming!!! Ive just read an extract by John Carlin, Sunday Times, 26/10/2014, his cash-in-on-a-tragedy-book (and I am sure its a piece of crap that should only be used as kindling) but this extract has really set my blood boiling!!! To all mothers, (single especially) struggling to raise their children the best that they know how, think again, if that child does anything wrong, you will be to blame! This article/extract is deplorable & I quote from the headline: the runner jailed for manslaughter was raised by his mother to submit to disability. It was to leave him emotionally flawed, says John Carlin, Pistorious biographer (the rest of the article gets worse). Seriously? A mother, who does her best to instill strength & courage in her disabled son, to make him think that he can achieve whatever he wants in life even though he is physically handicapped, who raises him & his siblings after their father abandoned them when he was only 6, is now torn to shreds in this book by this cretin! Shes a secret drinker, keeps a gun under her pillow as shes terrified living in a rough area of SA, is a single mother, so its her fault her son kills his girlfriend years after she dies a horrible death? Well I am sick to my back teeth of this. I remember having this discussion with someone many years ago & being roared at because I said its always the mother who is blamed. He felt that I was having a dig at fathers. There are many good fathers out there, there are also crap ones, regardless, its always the mother who is blamed when anything goes wrong & thats just wrong... Just thought Id vent!
