I am getting negative comments regarding posts where I clearly support the President. I didnt always.. I wanted Hillary! But, when Obama got the nod, I could easily support him over the other side! There was a time I was VERY disappointed in him. To get the 60 votes he needed in the House, he kept taking a step toward the Republican demands regarding the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. At first, it seemed necessary, but as soon as the President took 1 step to meet their demands, the Republicans took 2 steps back, adding more and more demands., That was not negotiating in good faith. Eventually, he got the bill passed, and it took off about as smoothly as the Medicare Part D plan did in the beginning... Then there was the inclusion of the chained CPI in his budget. I wrote him and said he flat out lost my support. I realize it was another need to get votes... but felt we should let the Republicans hold Social Security hostage rather than give in. He gave in. The uproar among his supporters was deafening. The chained CPI was OUT of his next budget. So dont say I blindly follow the President, as you who post those negative responses to my posts follow your FOX news lies or your blind acceptance of anything so-and-so said... You claim you want leadership. After all, 2 Americans have been beheaded! So what do you want? What would satisfy you? Dropping a dozen of so nuclear bombs on Syria, Iraq, and the rest of the middle east? Or would you prefer the President wander back to whatever he was doing, like reading a book to school kids, while thousands, not 2, but thousands are killed in NYC, and attacks are on in Washington as well. We are attacked! Thousands die... and the President reads to the children... But these people raise more objection to Obamas delay to do the right thing, to be sure we are after the guilty party... over his desire to get it right to prevent thousands of American deaths. Where was the objection, the outrage, the call for leadership, when the ones that created this mess by going to war based on lies and pretense, declaring it will stabilize the whole region (how is that working out?) got it all wrong and destabilized the area and armed everyone. Oh, right, I forgot, after a couple of months Victory was declared... And Osama bin Ladin went free... until the current President actually listened and understood intelligence reports. These demands for leadership are nothing more than smoke and mirrors to hid that they are merely repeating some right wing “talking point” to hide what is really going on... No matter WHAT this President does they WILL OPPOSE. There is no reason to it. They have merely bought into an ideology, and cannot see beyond. They raised no objection when the President caved in to the other sides demand for the chained CPI. And what did it do? It LOWERED what people on Social Security will get in the form of cost of living adjustments! As long as the chained CPI (Consumer Price Index, if you havent figured it out yet!), I refused any communication from the President (yes, he has an e-mail list to keep the citizens abreast of what is going on, and it is not negative attacking, but calm explanation of how and why he is taking the path he is taking...). When he listened, and he does, then I rejoined his e-mailing list. Contrary to those who oppose my political views, I do not follow blindly. If actions warrant, I register my objection, but using facts, not blind hatred of everything someone does. So if you post unwarranted objections with no solid factual base, or your base is not contrary to prior actions by others that you did NOT object to, then you may find I dont want your posts anymore.
