Most troops are good men, and join the service with the intention that they are preserving freedoms. They are not, they are protecting the investments of BIG CORPORATIONS. Patriotism is like a disease, there is nothing patriotic of all of the thousands of innocent civilians we kill in drone strikes and resource expeditions. Nothing patriotic about the rebel groups we fuel and set up then sell to American media. There is nothing patriotic about people getting fired for there freedom of speech against the government or how our own government spies on us and has been for the past few decades.
