I am going to have to choose my words carefully... Justice has been delayed for at least a week. In a move that caught everyone by surprise (in fact many in the courtroom had NEVER seen this happen) a continuance was granted for sentencing... A new lawyer for the defendant was introduced and several motions presented before the court in an attempt to have the already approved and accepted plea deal repealed. To me it seems like a tactic to just draw the process out. The judge has requested a copy of the transcript of the pre-trial of April 1st to see if there are any plausible reason to accept the motions. We go back next Friday (May 30th, the anniversary of my mothers death) and the judge will have his ruling on the motions and hopefully we will get a sentencing. I want to thank everyone for their support.
