I am having a terrible behavioral problem with my chug. Im almost embarrassed to share. I feel like I did something wrong. She is acting crazy. Very independent. Wont cuddle. Hides in her crate when I go to take her potty and wont go. Wont go into the kitchen at all because her large crate she stays in when Im not home is in there. Im retired, so home almost all the time. Have left her 5 hours at most once. She flails and throws her arms out and tangles her nails in my hair when I pick her up to take her off the bed. I put these steps next to my bed because its high trying to teach her to climb them. Made well and for dogs. Now because the steps are there she wont let me pick her up to put her back onto the bed. I spend a lot of time in bed because im disabled. She spends the day usually playing with toys on the bed or napping. I take her out at late afternoon evening for several hours down at a friends front lawn where we sit in chairs and she runs with kids, dogs, and plays on her leash. She is 7 1/2 months old and possibly going into heat? But, she doesnt obey commands or has only learned to sit. If I try to hold her facing me she is ok, kind of, but if I turn her back to me and hold her she flails and squirms and I just dont get it. Theres more, but she is like a different dog. Truthfully like a dog that has been abused and had been in a bad home! I dont know what to do. Help?
