I am having trouble finding the words to describe what I feel.. Mr. Patulak was the first teacher I ever had who told me I was a good writer and could be even better. I remember at the start of AP English fearing his red pen of death I had heard of in so many stories. I was terrified in my first essay meeting. I sat down, and he said, This is really not bad at all. Still needs work, but I like your style and flow a lot. Although..(pause for drama with a smirk on his face) you are a terrible speller! Look at that. You need to work on that. We laughed so hard. In all honesty though, it was the first time I felt even remotely confident about my writing. Thank you, Mr. Patulak. I have some pictures of him from spirit week on Opposite Day and Superhero Day. I loved his sense of humor.
