I am home after surgery on my dog bite that got gangrene. Scary & - TopicsExpress

I am home after surgery on my dog bite that got gangrene. Scary & serious is being in a hospital room with 2 other women with amputated legs, and yours is still on. ! out of 3, I am the lucky one. It was first uncomfortable being in the ER everyone spoke Spanish. Then it was nice to hear garifuna when moved to my room. I so bonded with my garifuna family while healing. One lady was from Elvis mother side, the other Daddy Phils side. They called me Beemacuculie (Sweet Rice) my pet name that has been with me for over 10 years, They cared, and fed me.14 hours not allowed to eat or drink then to wake up from the sleep induced worlds I was visiting was exhausting. Finally food. I was served a pigeon leg, a spot of gravy and a fresh baked hot bun. I was starving, the best pigeon leg I ever had! At night the Spanish pray group came in, that was a new experience they prayed and prayed out loud in Spanish. I looked at each face, drew in their love, their concerns to heal me, they were so intense, deep into their prayers, some even crying, all for me, I was so special for that moment. I thanked them all in Spanish, sent my regards to all. My prayers were answered I have my leg & I am home. Thank you all who are so concerned and prayed for me too. I cannot gross you all out with the pictures of my leg I chose to skip that part of my raw flesh exposed. The dog still lives Gab thinks even after seeing my leg that he has a good dog. Denial is what the is in. Reality is the dog must die.
