I am in Tanzania now with my grandson. We are relaxing in a African owned hotel. He is 11. When we got on the plane in LAX, this dutch couple got on after us and proceeded to remove our bag and place theirs in the overhead bin. My grandson had a rolled duffle bag with his asthma inhaler and medications. They couldnt fit their bag in and I finally got up and told them to leave our bag alone. The stewardess came over to help us and decided to remove our bag and place it somewhere else. She told me that we were all going to the same place. I didnt want to make a scene with the grandbaby in tow. When we got to our hotel last night, he asked me why we didnt fly directly to Africa and bypass Europe since we are buying black and boycotting. I didnt realize how upset he was about this incident. We talked about being treated well and the importance of spending your money with people who appreciate you. My question is shouldnt we be expanding this concept to Africa as well. How can we find out which flights go directly to Tanzania and bypass Europe. He refused to spend one dime in Europe because of our boycott. I am so proud of his awareness.
