I am in the mist of looking and listening to David Platt new Bible study Follow ME I was truly in tears with just the first session. Matthew 4:18-22 talks about how Jesus was walking along the sea of Galilee, he sees two brothers Peter and Andrew. They are fishermen, Jesus says put down your nets and follow me I will make you Fisher of MEN! I will Make you FISHER of men!! Disciples was what Jesus made them....Do you know 4 out of 5 people in the united states will say they are Christians, of those only half will say they go to church and half will tell you they really dont believe the words of the bible!! What does it take to FOLLOW JESUS? It takes the ability to understand JESUS doesnt need US!!! you heard me he doesnt need us we NEED HIM. When we say yes to Jesus do we know what that means?? If we HAVE NOTHING, ZERO, its knowing with true confidence he will take care of everything and believing he is over EVERYTHING!!! When we say yes to FOLLOWING JESUS we dont always know where we are going but we know WHO to follow! Many church people want a casual association with God, I am at church on Sunday but I am in charge and the rest the week I do it on my power!!! Again people he DOES NOT need us we need HIM! Do we choose to turn and run away or will you choose to bow and worship HIM!! I believe if you say yes to Jesus and really turn your heart over to HIM he will do what it takes to break you and have all of you not just the Sunday Christian but all of you 24/7,360 days! He is over your finances, he is over your children, he is over your marriage, HE IS THE KING of your life if you really follow!! For me I will go where Jesus tells me with confidence and wanting to be a disciple of HIM!! Words for thought today!
