I am just friggin exhausted. Woke up this morning and read my staffs shift reports on my phone. Reports of no hot water. Called my new Maintenance Director and he went in to work. I was working today also. Boiler problems--so frustrating because this building is only 5 1/2 years old. Of course, it was Saturday so harder to get some mechanical company in to address it. First one couldnt fix it, called another one. Also couldnt fix it. No one carries parts anymore. The parts are being flown in on Monday. So no hot water for the rest of the weekend, then on Monday, we will have to turn the water off in the whole building for up to 8 hours so they can repair everything. Using paper plates, plastic cups and utensils, because we were not sure the dishwasher would be able to boost the water heat high enough to properly sanitize everything. Had to make a run to Walmart to buy enough to get us through Monday. Called my new Dining Services Director to brainstorm how to get through Monday with no water. Store ice, water, juices, coffee, soft drinks enough to get through Monday. Modify the menus due to no water. Notified all the residents at dinner tonight and put out a letter explaining what was going on. Bought some large trash cans to store some water in to be able to pour into toilets on Monday. Have to go buy some more Purell dispensers. And on and on. Residents actually took the news well. On the positive side, most of them dont shower daily. Oh, fun, fun, fun.
