I am last to complain on this wall BUT: In our game last night, in the bottom of the 5th inning, a runner DID NOT tag up from second and advanced to third, at this point its 2 outs and when he got to third the play was stopped, we had the ball next to him and we yelled appeal.. As we are walking towards 2nd base to tag it the guy on 3rd runs home, at that point they call it a walk off and the game is over.... They kept saying the pitcher needs the ball.. No, thats wrong, the pitcher does not need the ball, the play was over, the guy from 3rd was not gonna run home because we were standing right there with the ball next to him. Our 3rd base ref had no clue what she was doing, having conversations with people and basically not paying attention, but to call that a walk off when we are walking to a base to tag it as an appeal is absolute ridiculous, We wouldnt have walked away to tag the base knowing the refs would allow that as a walk off
