I am neither Republican or Democrat, right or left-leaning. I am not personally invested in the fate of the Syrian regime or in the rebels there. One thing that I have observed in Iraq, though, is that instituting democracy in sovereign foreign countries, especially in Muslim nations, is not a job for the military forces of the United States of America. We all know that Vladimir Putin has his own agenda here, but is it not possible that, at times, his interests and that of his people (and the world as a whole) will coincide with ours? Bravo Mr. Putin, may we all hope that someone in Washington listens.
