I am not a baseball fan, but when people ask me where I am from, I - TopicsExpress

I am not a baseball fan, but when people ask me where I am from, I say I was born at what was then called the New England Hospital for Women and Children, 15 minutes walk from Fenway Park, and spent the next 22 years of my life (college excepted) 25 minutes walk from Fenway Park (my high school buddies reply, Cliff, at your age, make it 40 minutes!) I witnessed Ted Williams last home run from about 30 rows up on the 3rd base side. After that, I got utterly bored watching guys scratch their crotches for no apparent reason (just like Brahamin Unitarians), and pick up dirt (just like Cambridge Zoroastrians). But tonight. . .????? You bet I watched the game---on my computer! And I can still drive Boston blind-folded! Really???? And turn on my Uncle Gaaaghes Wonderland Race Track accent (almost as good as Click & Clack, without whom I cannot survive Saturday mornings)??? You bet! Go Sox! is now an oxymoron! But Im still a forever native! Cliff
