I am not a huge fan of the Japanese Culture and Language (as you can see, I rarely to almost never post anything Japanese as I myself dislike how overrated the Japanese Culture seemes to be everywhere), but I, as someone who can speak the language fluently (including reading, understanding and writing), (you guys may not know it since Im not too open about it) finds it awkward and embarrassing to read the stuff of some few people here in my feeds who try to speak in a lousy, badly written street japanese, just so to appear cool, edgy and native-ish. I mean, its good to practice and learn, and committing mistakes is understandable as it is a part of it. And we all wouldnt wanna be regarded as a fool in front of the natives by speaking only the formal stuff, appearing to be obviously a noob to the language of course. But pretending to be one by acting like a wannabe to me is definitely disgusting and cringe-worthy. Im the one who feels embarrassed instead reading all their lousy, inappropriate, wrong usage of slang words. (Shall I specify too that the Japanese Culture is HIGHLY particular and strict when it comes to formalities and courtesy? And appropriate choice of words is always a must to them?) If you cant speak the language naturally, stick to the formalities and study harder so eventually, you can start to sound more natural and native-ish (as how you wanted it to be). Stop making a fool out of yourself by being a wannabe. Or shall I say a weaboo.
