I am not usually one to post very political messages on my Facebook, not deeming it the most appropriate forum for that, but I have a friend in Hong Kong, Patricio Yohc who has asked for my help in spreading the news about what is going on over there. Apparently tens of thousands of pro-democracy protesters brought the city to a standstill on Sunday evening, in a planned wave of civil disobedience, aimed at protecting the greater autonomy and democratic freedoms the country has traditionally held. The police have tried to break the peaceful protest through tear gas and plastic bullets.
