I am not usually up this late on a school/ work night but insomnia has taken over.. I am thinking of the holidays fast approaching & realize how blessed I am. My oldest son comes in from work every night with no complaints .. In fact loves that he is finally old enough to be able to do it. My middle son tries to be the man of the house in Trents absence & helps his little brother with homework & always willing to help with supper or a chore.. And my baby still is the one that comes & lays with me on cold nights like this and tells me he loves me & is so lucky to have a mommy like me & no one could ever take my place.. Melts my heart. I have friends that know & love me that post how lucky they are to have me as part if their life & i totally get it because i am on the reciprocating end of that relationship as well.. One of my favorite memories as a child was going to my Mamaw & Papaw Balls for Christmas.. It was NEVER about exchanging gifts - we never did that - it was about being together- all of my aunts, uncles & cousins & the occasional friend that saw all the cars & just wanted to say hi & Merry Christmas.. Sitting in the back living room while my grandmother played the piano & we all sang & cracked jokes. All the kids sitting on the stairs to eat, cause there were so many people crammed in that house. I miss my Uncle Davy and his laugh. I miss my grandma & how she would just hold her cigarette at the table over the ashtray cause she barely smoked it - think it was just the habit of having it in her hand. My uncle Joe would throw me up in the air as a little girl & it would scare the crap out of me but i loved it lol. Me, Timmy & Joe Eddie - mamaw called us the 3 stooges lol.. We were always gettin into something! Then there was Papaw.. He would take his teeth out to eat.. Lol. I have so many fond memories & never realized how tremendously blessed I am to have come from such a big, diverse family.
