I am now about to be knocked off my feet jump into bed because of the hectic Saturday, when all events were back to back. Firstly, I attended ICA’s dialogue and appreciative lunch at ICA Building Kallang Road. Immediately when the lunch ended, I went to Hougang CC to accompany Mr Desmond Choo, Hougang’s Adviser to Grassroots Organisations and other GRLs to distribute WeCare Packs to the needy in Hougang SMC. Thereafter, I accompanied Mr Desmond Choo and other GRLs to Rio Vista Condominium for the swimming carnival organised by Rio Vista, Florida and Evergreen Condominiums all situated at Hougang Avenue 7. The event was supported by Hougang CCC. After the swimming carnival, a dialogue session (Singapore Conversation) followed between the residents from the 3 condominiums and personnel from NationalParks, LTA, NEA and Mr Desmond Choo. After the dialogue session ended, Mr Desmond Choo, GRLs and I attended the Ramadan breaking fast with Muslim residents at Hougang CC. For a man of 70 years-old like me, the hectic schedule was quite tiring but I found it rewarding because we were able to put a smile on the faces of the recipients’ of the WeCare Packs. For the swimming carnival and the dialogue session with the residents of the 3 condominiums, we were able to interact and enhance the confidence level of the residents of the 3 condominiums that the government is happy to receive their feedbacks, and act of them. Last but not least we were able to break fast with our Muslim residents and strengthen bonds of friendship, understanding and trust with them. Hence, the time sacrificed on Saturday was worth it. …… GOOD NIGHT FOLKS! I am now about to be knocked off my feet jump into bed because of the hectic Saturday, when all events were back to back.
