I am one blessed and truly humbled mama! Thank you my dear boy, Chad Smith, for training and working so hard to prepare for your very first MS 150 ride. Most of you are aware of the journey I started in June 2013 to get in shape and channel some of my competitiveness into triathlons. The past few months have been fun, rewarding and hard. I will be the first to say that more than once or twice, I have needed motivation to get up early, run farther, swim longer, and so on. Lucky for me, I never have to look far for support. As part of this continuing journey, I am honored to ride the 2014 MS150 in celebration of my mother-in-law, Michele Klepac. Michele is a constant source of motivation and strength for all of us who know her. Talk about someone who looked MS in the face and said bring it on! Michele has been on this journey for many years and has had the courage to try new things, push through the pain, and battle the other symptoms with mind over matter. I cant name a time where she has missed a family event or a day with her grandkids because of her MS. The power of a strong relationship with Christ combined with family who loves and supports her, are paramount in this adventure. Michele is constantly looking outside to do for others, and now I get to do for her. I know for me, during the two-day ride, I will often look to Michele and how she lives her life to push even harder up the next hill and through the next mile. The MS Society is requesting that, as riders, we raise money to help find a cure.
