I am one of the biggest criticiser of Afro women, but I would like - TopicsExpress

I am one of the biggest criticiser of Afro women, but I would like to think I am doing it out of place of love. The greatest aspect I criticise about us is our self hate. A weave and countless out of wedlock children scream I JUST HATE ME!... just my opinion... Why cant we love ourselves the way we are naturally made? I look forward to the day when weaves are a rarity in our communities and we realise that there is everything wrong, selfish and not self-worthy about having children, when circumstances dont permit. I have a self dislike issue; I have A HUGE problem with my weight, rather size. I am doing something about it and I am two sizes away from my goal size. I have noticed that when I talk with people about this and me being an Afro women the conversation goes somewhere in the lines of; why? you are a black woman, you are supposed to be chubby, that is how you supposed to be, as I roll my eyes to this. I dont want to be skinny, I just want a size I am comfortable in. I have given myself the permission to be beautiful, healthy, happy and fit!
