I am performing at a tribute show for Pablo Neruda tonight at the Firehouse Gallery. I wrote this poem for the occasion THE DAY I WAS PABLO NERUDA I wrote this poem to you In memory of Your kiss. My heart, still alive With the mist Of an iridescent night That swirls around the Warm flesh of stars. A wind of promise Rattled at the Blinded window Of that upstairs room Where I learned Of your mysteries Beneath the scent of Tangled sheets. The moon slipped, Silent and reverent, Across the pale Ghost of your Departing smile and Your nakedness was Like the call of the sea. Tomorrow I will gather Flowers in the Sunshine, Spill them on the Altar of your Silent yes.
