I am, perhaps, very mildly alarmed by the Daʿesh murderers ordering their wannabe minions to attack Americans, Britons, Canadians and Australians wherever, whenever and however they can. However having inexplicably survived the mega-death nightmares of the Cold War I have a rather different idea of what real existential terror is, and I just cant find it within me to get the collywobbles over relatively small scale scuffles and skirmishes. In any case, its apparent that the terrorists dont actually have to do anything much to promote terror beyond their immediate festering sphere of influence, so good at self-actualising our very own scare campaigns have we become. They make a peep, and our media and Government dutifully amplify it into a roar. Sure, there is some physical danger from them but when your own Prime Minister says, Regrettably for some time to come, the delicate balance between freedom and security may have to shift I get rather more alarmed. Demonstrably, the current OzGov is not exactly known for having a light and gentle touch when it comes to twisting the dials of legislation.
