I am pleased to announce that I am going to Chicago on Wednesday - TopicsExpress

I am pleased to announce that I am going to Chicago on Wednesday to the Clinton Global Initiative. I am part of a team that includes Morgan County Judge/Executive Tim Conley, former Kentucky State Treasurer Jonathan Miller, and Stacey Epperson, an Ashoka Fellow and head of Next Step. Our firm issued a report earlier this year called: "Rebuilding West Liberty KY Strategic Report." One of the most urgent stakeholder-inspired strategies involves one of its most critical needs: Roughly 300 residential homes were lost to the storm, with only about half replaced as of a full year later. To meet this dire need, Rebuilding West Liberty has committed to the construction and development of 150 affordable, highly energy-efficient factory-built and site-built homes. The three-year project includes a $27 million investment of equity, grants, debt and operating grants to complete the project in West Liberty and scale innovations piloted by Next Step Network for other disaster response efforts and affordable housing projects for factory-built homes across the nation. The partners on the “Commitment to Action” include Frontier Housing, Next Step, NeighborWorks® America, The Ford Foundation, Grassroots Financing LLC, Midwest Clean Energy Enterprise, LLC, Regional Technology and Innovation Center, Inc. and the Morehead State University Innovation & Commercialization Center and the University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research.
