I am posting this for my friends who either are not familiar with the issues behind the Israel-Palestinian Conflict or otherwise believe that Israelis who are scared about the Hamas-Fatah reconciliation have no reason to be concerned. This clip is taken from a childrens show that airs on a Hamas network mid-morning. It is designed for children who are young enough to still be at home (pre-nursery age). Is THIS what a responsible governing body sends as an educational message to children? I believe in nation-state building as a means of achieving peace. I may personally and ideologically disagree with the concept of a Palestinian State built at the expense of Israel and I disagree with their self-proclaimed Right of Return (for the most part). I do think, however, that there must be some sort of Palestinian entity that allows their citizenry to live in peace under their own rule. Heres the question: In addition to the practical issues (where to build it, what lands, etc...) the issue remains of WHO is running that entity? How can Israel negotiate, cede control of strategic territory and enter into binding security agreements with a group that teaches THIS? Thoughts are appreciated.
