I am proud that there are leaders in my state, and Christians from the denomination in which I was raised, Baptists, who are responding to the current immigration crisis involving children. Dallas County residents did not meet the buses with signs and threats. They met them with compassion and accommodations. I know that often Texas gets a bad rap as far as the way children are treated here, and rightly so with our poor track record concerning education and healthcare.
