I am putting out a cry for help. If you dont know how to fix it, but you may know someone who might, please share my problem. I live off of disability so money for tech help is non existent. I am looking for help from the Facebook community, there is power in numbers and I truly believe people want to help when they can. Here is my problem as clearly and with enough info to describe what I am trying to do. I have two Apple Macs. 1: A late 2010 Mac Mini with dual core processor and 8gb memory. The operating system is OSX Mountain Lion on a mac drive with 320gb. On this Mini, I am running Fusion 5 to run windows 7 for me to run a specific lighting design program not available in a Mac version. In this condition the program runs well and I can connect to IE for windows updates and updates for the lighting design program. On the Late 2011 MacBook Pro with a i5 intel processor, 16gb memory, a 500gb mac hard drive, running Mountain Lion, Fusion 5, Windows 7, and the same lighting design program. It also runs Win 7 and the Lighting design software fine and connects to IE fine. Here is my problem. I can upgrade to OSX Mavericks, run fusion 5 and my lighting design program runs well. This is where things go wrong. It takes much longer to get things up and going. If I try to go to IE and the internet, things kinda freeze and it says it is unable to access network. I did some research and found a solution to the problem by giving win 7 and the Mac separate IP addresses. This is the final and most problematic. One of the great abilities mac have is the easy connection and transfer of files back and forth between the two macs. As I tried to move files between the desktop and the laptop, one could not access the drives connected to the MBP. So I did a restore on the MBP to Mountain Lion, bang, all is well, working perfectly, even the Mac Mini can be connected to even though it is running Mavericks. One point, it has the IE problem still. So I am going to restore it back to the working Mountain Lion install. Here are the two issues I see. One, I could spend the $50 bucks and upgrade to Fusion 6 and see if that fixes the problem. Two someone in Facebook universe knows the way to fix the IP conflict and I save the $50 and all the time uninstalling fusion 5, uninstall Win 7, and uninstall my lighting design program, and install Fusion 6, Win 7, and the lighting design program. Which would make me crazy! So if you are an incredible wiz with Macs, Fusion, Win 7. If you have an answer I will be eternally grateful. If you dont know but might know someone please share this. Someone out there can help me, I just need to be connected to the right person. Facebook universe, you have the answer. Just connect me to one who will help me out!
