I am quite surprised by comments and statements made here and there about the silence of the Arabs and their dormant state, or calls for the Arabs to come to the rescue of their brethren, etc. Such comments have the stench of a repulsive nationalistic outlook. Havent we learned that our strength lies in our Islam and not our Arabism? And while Allah has honored the land of the Arabs by making it the recipient of the final message, our trust and thrust is with the whole Muslim Ummah, and not a part of it, the Arabs. Furthermore and more significantly, from the global geopolitical perspective, Islams traditional enemies dont give much attention to the Arab Muslims. Their attention and fear is focused on the non-Arab Muslims.
