I am ready to close my FB account do to all the fighting and backstabbing i have witnessed over what our who I thought were friends. Cant we all just get a long or at least not make it public. I read this quote today which read. Whatever lies within our power to do lies also within our power not to do Aristotle You may ask what is the meaning of this? It means to me that if we have got the power to do something, we should do it in the right way so that its good for everyone and it doesnt harm others......i think its this You have the capacity to make decisions; and with that capacity, you also have the decision not to make the decision. For example, in some such cases, there are just those times that all you need to do is do nothing to do whats right. Back-fighting, initiating in quarrels with people--these are things you can decide to do or not to do. Same goes for your decision to follow through. You can help save a life or do nothing at all--your power to do is helping, while your power not to is doing nothing. It is another example of this quote, To kill is not true power. Anyone can take a life. But to give life--that is true power. The quote simply means, when you are given the power to do something, you are also given the power not to do it. In other words, you have been given the power of choice. Choice may be a difficult responsibility to hold, but its a gift that makes you learn from the wrong decisions you may make. And live life continuously, knowing that from your mistakes has become of you a smarter person than you were yesterday. Rant over! Good Bless you all!
