I am really torn on this particular situation. It is extremely easy for people who are healthy to make knee jerk doctrinal decisions, but could you really say that if you had a child that for 12 years had no life whatsoever due to extreme brain damage, often screamed for hours in intense pain, was blind, couldnt speak, and was being kept alive by unnatural technology that at some point you wouldnt begin to feel guilty for prolonging her unnatural suffering? Really? I dont believe this mother ended her daughters life. She is not guilty of murder. She simply stopped unnaturally prolonging a life of inhuman suffering. If someone were to impose this kind of suffering on a healthy person we would think them to be monsters. Maybe this mother just couldnt be a monster any longer. Do you really, sincerely have no compassion for her? Do you really believe that God had some purpose in this girls unending torturous suffering? That might fit your religious doctrine but it does not in ANY WAY remind me of the God I know.
