I am reluctant to do this on line, however sometimes the truth is best to make a clean decision and move forward. Regarding my role as RD for Yurrebilla: Dear Trail Commitee, I have given it much thought over the past few days and I have decided, along with my family, that I will not be nominating myself for Yurrebilla RD this year. Last year, as you are all aware there were some detractors that made my position very difficult, I had no choice to walk away for my own personal health and safety. Then, with the help of Jonathan came back very late, as encouraged by Doug and we put together a marvellous event, with the help of the amazing volunteers, at very short notice. I was named RD for 2014 post race. I have just recently discovered the SARRC Board are now not naming the RD for Yurrebilla until later notice, that I am NOT officially the RD for Yurrebilla, and furthermore, that another detractor, has approached the Board claiming I was unsafe in my practices as co RD at the Heysen 105 - The RD for Heysen has refuted this unfair defamtion with a response to the board. Quite simply I have had enough, I no longer wish to fight for a postiton, I do voluntarily, and for the love of trail running and spreading that love within the wonderful trail running community, both here and abroad. In saying this I have made this decison as a) a final one, and will be unavailable in September, and secondly that it is made contenedly, and in peace. I plan to start on a new business endeavour, and am excited about the future. I would like to acknowledge the Trail Committee for their support and belief in me as a Race Director. I would like to take this opportunity to advise the SARRC Board that Race Directors within SARRC are volunteer roles, they are not paid, they take alot of time, energy and effort, and take you away from your family. Race Directors are precious and should be supported wholly. I also understand that the detractors are few, and that there has been huge support from the trail community for my role as RD for Yurrebilla and I am ever so greatful for that, the entire reason I set about, with the encouragement from Terry Cleary was to help raise the profile of this wonderful event we have, and our wonderful trail community. Happy trails and may this wonderful little event continue to thrive Kind regards, Sadie Cranston
