I am reminded how MP David Bahati who introduced the Anti-Gay Bill in Uganda, told me that if the Bill passed they would not be worried about its impact on tourism. That they did not need the Americans or the West....... I just got a response from the NTA to my article about the Ugandan Embassy visit and the resulting release from the Ambassador.. - Mr. Richer distanced himself from the alleged partnership as suggested by the Ambassador of Uganda in D.C. and has deferred to a formal statement which is forthcoming from NTA. Read the BLOG update, where NTA adv Mr. Richer said NTA does not condone discrimination and has spoken out to the Ambassador about their concerns about the Anti-Gay legislation. We have now challenged the NTA to be more proactive in their forthcoming statement and to take a stronger stand -to suggest to their tour operators that it is too onerous to operate tours in Uganda until the AHA is repealed.
