I am running for Congress to secure the fifth district house seat for Oklahomas stressed working and middle class. We need to protect Social Security and expand benefits; preserve Medicare and secure adequate funding to strengthen the program; support public education, including Pell Grants and Stafford Loans for college students; and make government work for all people by helping those who need a hand up and making their American Dream come true. I support a womans right to choose; the Employment Non- Discrimination Act; Voting Rights and Civil Rights for all Americans; fair treatment for workers, including federal government workers; raising the minimum wage; and equal opportunity and equal justice under the law. I promise not to shut down the government or engage in reckless public behavior that keeps our government from assisting the American people. The government needs to work to solve the problems of the American people, not to make their lives more difficult. We have knocked the better part of 16,000 doors, made 11,000+ phone calls, participated in 11 parades, put up nearly 600 signs in peoples yards; and raised a good deal of money for our grassroots campaign. We have been working at this for more than 14 months, while others sat comfortably on the sidelines and refused to confront the soon to be ex-congressman in our district. Together we will bring reasonable, effective, and inclusive representation to our district.
