I am sending my most fervent seasons wishes to all my friends especially to all those who wished me well and prayed for my recovery when I announced that I was grounded by malaria on December 10th. Well, it turned out to be something worse. When I didn’t get better after two days, my doctor ordered for further tests and discovered that I had pneumonia – a very debilitating infection of the lungs. X-ray showed that my left lung had become badly diseased and I was finding it almost impossible to breathe; leading to my instant hospitalization. I have just been discharged and recovering well at home, where I am literally learning how to walk again. Pneumonia is a very dangerous and draining ailment and you don’t wish it on your worst enemy, but I thank God that with the expertise of my doctor – one of the best in the world – and the care, wishes and prayers of you my friends, I am largely out of the woods. I am still weighed down by the effect of heavy medication and am trying to get my energy back. I hope to use the period of this festive period rest well and hopefully get back to full health by the New Year. Once again, I thank you all very fervently and wish you well. But more importantly, I feel I owe it as a duty to explain my absence from the scene. Thank you all and Merry Christmas.
