I am sick and tired of all the racial malarkey. Let’s face - TopicsExpress

I am sick and tired of all the racial malarkey. Let’s face it. We live in a racially (among other) prejudiced world, not just country, but world. This is not to say that all people are racially prejudiced, nor is it to say that one race is more prejudiced than another. A narrow minded bigot is a narrow minded bigot regardless of their race, skin color, pocket book, social status, or political status. Yes, just because people can be racially prejudiced, there is also prejudice of skin color, which although mildly different, might as well be classified as the same. I remember the good ole days. When you had bigots that either classified you as Red, Black, Brown, Yellow, or White. There were still those who were not racially prejudiced, those who pretended not be, and those who were racially prejudiced, and it is the same today. Today is no different than it was back then. The names and colors have changed, but the product is still the same. Now we have new categories such as “White Hispanic”, “Black Asians”, or even a “White Black”. Make no mistake each and every racial culture breaks down their own race and has people that racially discriminate based on the percentage of pureness or color of skin within their own race. You have only to look at some of the Native American tribes to see this in action. There is constant strife over who really is a Native American based on the provable percentage of native blood. I watched an incident similar to this with a Native American tribe. Certain members were going to be removed from the tribal rolls because of this. I couldn’t help but think that it was like telling a black man, he is no longer black, because his great great grandfather slept with a girl from another tribe. And yet, I can remember Morgan Freeman telling a reporter, that our president is not black, because his mother was white. Tell me racism isn’t alive and well today in all races across this great land? Being the product of interracial marriages myself, I have watched and experienced each of these aspects through the years. I always remember the hearing through the years “Stinking Mexicans, oh not you, you’re different”, or “Pinche’ Gringo, oh not you you’re different”. Or better yet, “Someone better pick up that trash, or they are going to make the Indian cry” (referencing the TV commercial with the crying native when he sees all the litter on the ground), once again I would be told, “Not you, you’re different”. Anyone who has walked into any neighborhood that is ethnically different than our own, has experienced being followed, watched, and observed. Put a “White” looking man in a black neighborhood and see if he is not profiled, watched, and observed. We are all victims of profiling. But then again, the world’s bigotry and racial prejudices permeate all countries. Now as for profiling: Our, and our government’s attempts to mandate non-racial profiling, requires, and, in fact, uses racial profiling. That includes this administration, as any previous administrations. As an example, we can now see how many “black on black”, “white on white”, etc. crimes have been committed in this nation, other nation, or for any city or state of this great land. Why? Because all people involved in a crime are “Profiled” by their race. This does not stop there. We can pull up statistics on traffic stops. Yes, that is right. Every traffic stop, requires racial profiling. After all, how do we know if we are “discriminating” against one race over another, if someone does not guess, or ask your race? Heck! We even profile on the census, to know where each of the races are gathering. Even election campaigns profile you and I based on our race. After all they have to know what we want to hear. And they consider race among other demographics. We have to remember, there is always someone who has had it worse than you and I, and there is always someone who has had it better than you and I. We are all special, and yet we are no better than anyone else. So just calm down and relax. Everyone needs a purpose in life. If you don’t have one, then someone will make one up for you. I have watched a person through the years in my life, who I have always said, “They have to have a villain their life. If they don’t have one, or life is going to smooth, then you better watch out. Because they will manufacture one, and you can only hope that it is not you.” And once they created a cause, they would stir up any and every one they could against their new villain. So, at the sake of sounding redundant, we live and participate in a racist world and society. We have a choice. We can get as angry as we want and throw tantrums about it, and when we are done, we still live and participate in a racist world and society. Or we can choose to simply live our life as an example for those around us, that we have the privilege of being graced by their presence. I choose to try my best to live a simple life and just keep a clear conscience to the best of my ability.
