I am so SICK of hearing about this EBOLA nonsense!! And the media is harping on it like if it were the Great Plague or something! Three people... nationwide... test positive for this bug (one here in NYC) and everyone is ready to lose their minds! People PLEASE GET THE FACTS and stop panicking! FACT: Ebola CANNOT be contracted through casual contact. FACT: Ebola can only be caught if you are in direct contact with the blood, semen, urine, feces, saliva, or other bodily fluid of an infected person who is SYMPTOMATIC. FACT: Ebola can only enter the body and infect an individual through the mouth, eyes, a cut, a sore, or any other direct opening into the body / bloodstream. FACT: Ebola does NOT go airborne. It CANNOT be caught that way! You are much. much, much more likely to contract INFLUENZA (the flu) through airbore particles than you will ever be likely to catch Ebola. The number of people in the USA who are currently infected with Ebola does not warrant this kind of blind panic. Here are some more FACTS for you: Number of people in the USA infected with Ebola so far: Three. Number of people in the USA who have died from Ebola: One (thats one less than two!) Number of people (on average) who die EVERY YEAR from influenza (the flu) in the USA: between 36,000 and 53,000! Yearly USA Heart Disease deaths? About 600,000! (Hmm... Maybe Michelle Obama is onto something by trying to get us all to eat better and exercise. Yearly USA gun / firearm-related deaths? About 32,000. Are we seeing a pattern here? Get a grip everyone!!!!
