I am so amazed at the compassion of children and how it moves them to act. 10 y.o. Jacqueline Kurchinski and her 9 y.o. sister Carolyn are visiting Florida from Brazil. They heard about the weekend shooting death of 45 y.o. Officer Charles Kondek on the news.Kondek,a married father of six, died after authorities say he responded to a noise complaint early Sunday . A man now identified as Marco Antonio Parilla Jr. was reportedly knocking on doors trying to find a person who he believed ratted him out on a parole violation. He fired seven shots,one hitting Officer Kondek above his bullet proof vest. The 17-year-veteran of the Tarpon Springs Police (and former NYPD officer of 5 years) did not survive his injuries. Jacqueline just received a new violin for christmas. She brought her violin to Officer Kondeks memorial and played amazing grace. Her sister carolyn stood by holding the flowers they brought for the memorial. I share this because it was one of the most touching moments I saw all morning. My hope is that youll listen.
