I am so sad. We have been begging for a foster for this awesome dog. He is housebroken, he gets along with dogs and cats, he doesnt jump on people, he is not a barker. He is just a nice dog! He was running frantically for almost a week looking for his owner, who apparently dumped him. He was finally caught and got a temporary foster. He had no tag, no chip. The person who temporarily gave us a deadline of Wednesday, as she had already committed to pet sitting another dog starting Wednesday. So now, she is threatening to release him BACK on the streets since we havent found a foster! We have even asked other groups to take this boy. NOBODY has answered our plea. The vet who scanned him for a chip believes he is a purebred Pointer. But the Pointer rescue said he is a mix so they cant take him. There must be some good person out there who can give this guy a safe place to lay his head for a while. ALL of his vetting will be paid for if he is fostered for Westbury CARE. We can provide food, dog bed, a crate, leash and collar. What else can we do? If another reputable group can take him, just let us know. This is a GREAT dog!
