Todays Grace Moment: The gift of security Way back in 1924, a national marketing campaign encouraged people to buy phonographs for their loved ones because it was the gift that keeps on giving. Get it? They will enjoy your gift over and over and over every time they play a record. That phrase has been reused countless times, including as encouragement for people to register as organ donors. The birth of Jesus Christ is the ultimate gift that keeps on giving. His lifes mission was fulfilled as he changed Gods verdict on humanity from Guilty! to Innocent! But in addition his intercessory presence at his Fathers right hand means that the Fathers every interaction with us will be loving, positive, and helpful: He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32). If the Father put his Son through crucifixion for us, he will certainly not hold back on the far littler things we need. It means that all our needs and troubles are noticed. It means that our Fathers heart cares whats happening to us. It means that he pays particular attention to our prayers and fast-tracks them for action. It means that he adjusts his management of the universe with us in mind. All these things are gifts. He loves to give us all things for Jesus sake. Thank you, God!
