I am so sorry this took so long guys. Christopher Nolan is one of the best modern day directors working today. Every movie this man makes is just fantastic from The Dark Knight Trilogy and The Prestige. The Dark Knight is one of my all time favorite movies, Nolan also made another one that made my Top 10 Movies of all time and that is Inception. My review of Inception now. Dom Cobb is an extractor who steals ideas from other peoples dreams. But when hes offered a chance to get back to his children by a business man, he cant refuse. His mission is to do the impossible Inception which is to plant an idea into someones mind without them knowing about it. Cobb gathers a group of professionals and goes after his target. How can I describe Inception? How about a pure masterpiece in cinema with being one of the most original and most complicated movies I have ever watched in my life! Inception is a must see for movie lovers. The entire cast of Inception was the best ensemble cast of 2010. Actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard and even Michael Cane having a cameo in the movie. Whats not to love about this fantastic cast! And all of them do such great jobs in their roles. DiCaprio is one of my favorite right now, his work in movies like Gangs of New York, The Aviatorect. I cant believe he wasnt won an Oscar. But in Inception he gives one of the best performances of his career as Cobb. Going from being nearly depressed to a level headed teacher to even a kickass fighter in the action scenes, hes just fantastic. Joseph Gordon-Levitt gives the performance of his career playing Author, Cobbs partner. Unlike his role in The Dark Knight Rises hes complex, an interesting character being the brains who explain most of the material besides Cobb making him one of the most important characters. Also Ellen Page is great in the role she plays (the architecture who creates the world of the dream). While not as great in Juno she stands out as one of the best actors in the movie. As I mentioned, the other cast do greatly in their roles but those three stand out the most. Whats what I also loved, the actors actually understood their acting roles, flawless. Christopher Nolan successfully made some of the best visual effects of any movie I have ever seen. Using particle effects and very little CGI he went old school yet old school outdid the new type. Those of you who have watched the movie, theres a hallways fight that goes on with the actors fighting as the hallways rotating, it looks like full use of CGI but in fact Nolan built a hallway and had them rotate it as they fought. Just amazing what you can do with little CGI right? Of Course other notable things are the other stuff that people mostly ignore. The set design is great, the cinematography is absolutely gorgeous to look at, with the loud musical score (made by Hans Zimmer) having such a effect on you that it somehow makes the movie seem bigger while watching it. The action is thrilling and excellently made too. Inception though isnt for everyone. Christopher Nolan did make one of the greatest screenplays ever made but the movie is so complicated at times that you cant look away for a second. I look away for 12 seconds and when I came back I was so lost. Bye the end of Inception it was 11:00 at night and I laid on my bed and thought about the ending trying to wrap my head around what happened. When I looked at the clock again it was 1:00 at night, for two hours I thought about just the ending and tried to figure out what happened, it wasnt until the second time I watched it when I fully understood the movie. So overall, Inception is a pure masterpiece in cinema. Full of memorable characters, fantastic acting, gorgeous visual effects, and that soundtrack BOOMING at the right moments! I cannot believe that Nolan did not get an Oscar nomination for directing this or win for his screenplay, like I said the best screenplay that has ever been crafted. Then Inception didnt even win the Oscar which is such a crime! I was outraged when that occurred. But I give Inception a 10 out of 10.
