I am sure many of you reading me became friends with her on Zuckerville years before our e-paths ever crossed. But Ive been blessed with knowing this charismatic woman beyond her media persons that I feel qualified to write about her today. Aunty B is no mean woman. She is extra-ordinary. With words, with expressions, with logic, with common sense, her essays tell you about a woman whos largely pained by what is going on in her country but who believes we all have got our roles to play to set Nigeria on the path that will lead her to greatness again. I first met todays personality through Uncle Pius Adesanmi about three months ago. Less than 2 weeks after our e-meeting, we met for less than 5 minutes after she got back to Nigeria from the US in preparation for Circle of Hands maiden workshop and symposium. When Prof talked about her, I went to Google and ran a check on her. But on our second meeting on October 1 which was the day of the event, I listened to this woman talk about her convictions and why she does the many things she does to inspire and motivate the generation after hers, and I knew that Googles search results, all of them, did very little justice to telling the story of this woman. After then, I have had too many encounters with her so much so that shes left such a profound impression on me. In words, in deeds, the philosophy she lives her life around is what people would say of her when her sojourn on earth is over. And I listen to her, and watch her work tediously to ensure that she affects as many lives as she can before death overtakes her. Which is part of the reasons she established Circle of Hands. She realises how privileged she is to have the life she has but she also acknowledges the huge responsibility that privilege places on her to ensure many young girls in Nigeria, who would ordinarily not be able to, end up like her. A good listener and great counsellor, with Aunty B, you have a shoulder to cry on when you need one so long as you have a very good head on your neck. I have been blessed to have people who see something in me and take it upon themselves to help refine that which they see in me so I can become a better person for me and society. One of such blessings is the woman I present to you today. One who has had such profound impact in my life in 3 months. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, a great social reformer, an excellent essayist, member of the editorial board of Premium Times, mentor to many and a very big time farmer, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju. Join me in celebrating her.
