I am sure that I’ve written before about how I only started - TopicsExpress

I am sure that I’ve written before about how I only started following F1 last year, but I’ve known for most of my life who Ayrton Senna was (although, until Top Gear aired their tribute last year I couldn’t have told you that he was a three-time world champion). One thing that sticks in my mind a lot is my dad saying to my mum “Ayrton Senna’s died.” I was eight when it happened, and I honestly do not know why what my dad said has stayed with me. Over the past year, Ayrton has become one of my all-time favourite drivers, if not the absolute favourite. I can honestly say that there is no one else connected with the sport who fascinates me in the same way that he does. Not only was he a fantastic driver, as shown here, he was a truly wonderful human being as well. I wish that I’d have been born at a time when I’d have been able to actually see and remember him race, and it saddens me somewhat that I’ll never be able to. Today I have never felt prouder or happier to be an F1. Seeing tributes and memories being posted by fans and drivers alike has been wonderful. Even though some have made me cry (McLaren’s, Martin Brundle’s, and Jenson Button’s in particular).
