I am sympathetic to progressives, but I cant help noticing that sometimes their good intentions go horribly awry. For example: LBJs Great Society back in the 60s instituting welfare for solo mums. Who could disapprove of helping to raise disadvantaged children? Yet as a result, weve now had several generations of young men in the ghettos with no male role models except each other, and in that harsh environment they naturally tend toward violence and crime. The preponderance and ferocity of Black criminals has a natural tendency for police to despise and fear them disproportionately, making them more or less inadvertently racist. The Black administration and sympathetic Whites side with the minorities, and what do we get? A wave of hope and newfound confidence? Maybe some, but we also get things like this. How does this happen?
